This horse-drawn steam pumper entered service at the Salem Fire Department in 1880. It pumped its last fire in 1935 when the Oregon State Capitol building burned. It is currently housed at Salem's Fire Station #7.
While taking a break from their live fire training, the Salem Fire Academy 2016-2 recruits paid a visit to the Oregon Fallen Fire Fighter Memorial at DPSST. Inscribed on the wall is the name of Floyd McMullen, who died in the Line of Duty on April 25, 1935 at a fire at the Oregon State Capitol. He is Salem Fire Department's only LODD.
