    While taking a break from their live fire training, the Salem Fire Academy 2016-2 recruits paid a visit to the Oregon Fallen Fire Fighter Memorial at DPSST. Inscribed on the wall is the name of Floyd McMullen, who died in the Line of Duty on April 25, 1935 at a fire at the Oregon State Capitol. He is Salem Fire Department's only LODD.
