An empty barge from Ross Island Sand & Gravel is moving downstream on the Willamette River in Portland. The pilot has to execute a turn just as he’s passing through the opening in the Hawthorne Bridge, otherwise they’d end up striking the seawall and the Portland Spirit. Of course, they made this all look easy.

This is a night capture of a C-47 Skytrain that is part of the collection at the Evergreen Air Museum in McMinnville, Oregon. Over 10,000 were built in the US and flown by nearly 100 countries. A true workhorse, the C-47 and its civilian counterpart DC-3 are still in commercial use today.
